Location: Blacktown, Mount Druitt and Nepean College Children's Centres

Casual Salary Rate: $25.55 - $26.91 per hour
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons who wish to be considered for placement on a suitability list as a Casual Advanced Child Care Worker, for Nepean, Mount Druitt and Blacktown College Children's Centres.
This list will be valid for a period of up to 12 months.
Notes: This is a child-related position. Applicants must have a valid and current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance as a condition of employment. To apply for a WWCC Clearance, visit the Children Guardian's website at http://www.kids.nsw.gov.au/
If you are currently employed or engaged in child-related work by the Department, then you are not required to apply for a WWCC as part of your application for this position.

Duties:
Assist with planning and implementing the educational program for individuals and groups of children as part of the teaching team. Contributes to maintaining a safe and healthy environment and assists in the overall procedures of the student/campus based children centre.

Selection Criteria:
Certificate III in Children’s Services;
Two years’ experience in early childhood services preferably in long day care;
Ability to comfort children, encourage self help skills and develop a caring rapport to meet their needs;
Good communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to relate to children and adults from diverse backgrounds;
Ability to work independently and within a team environment with initiative, flexibility and the capacity to contribute to the overall procedures of the centre;
Current First Aid qualification specifically related to the care of children and approved by the WorkCover Authority for the purposes of the Work Health & Safety Act 2011 or a first aid course approved by the Department of Community Services.
