OET
the english test---the hardest part for me!
like IELTS, there are listening, reading, speaking and writing.
Rate: E to A. A or B is a pass. you have to pass all 4 parts once.
reading, speaking and writing are relatively easier than listening.
writing is just a referal letter.
speaking is some tasks talking with patients(examiners).
listening and writing are exclusively for dentistry but writing and listening are same as general medicine, which i think it's not fair because all the topics are about general medicine.
but reading is not too difficult, listening is the hardest part.
listening includes two parts
---one is consultation with a patient, easier part
---the other is a medical artical, hard and also depends on if you are familiar with the topic because you can get some marks from guesswork. unfortunately, none of topics about dentistry.
OET is getting harder and harder now. i passed it 2 years ago and i failed it this year(i don't need OET anymore as i passed the final exam) even though i was using english everyday in the past 2 years.
also the results partially depend on examiners because most of questions are not MCQs.
if your answers are around boarder line, this examiner may give you a mark, the others may not.
if you go to OET exam for listening, you'd better come a little bit earlier, which can make sure you have a best seat. because they just play CD in front of the room and the conversations are not very clear.

i've been one of them, which is not specially designed for OET even they wish because they can't keep updating with OET. |
