Re:[公告]一月25日停机
这个是服务商的解释,那些丢掉的数据看来是没有了,抱歉……

sql was upgraded to Plesk 7.5.6 and Windows Server 2003 (latest version) on Wednesday, 25th January 2005. This upgrade was expected to last 6 hours.

Our system administrators planned this upgrade well in advance, running simulations and fine tuning the upgrade procedure. Our support team was also involved in drills to prepare them in unlikely event the server was corrupted.

Unfortunately, the Microsoft Service Pack upgrade corrupted the server, resulting in an unbootable machine.

Once the server was corrupted, we initiated our disaster recovery plan.

Windows repair mode was initiated. This aims to correct any problems with the Windows installation. The repair process took several hours to complete. Once the repair was completed, the server booted and all issues appeared resolved. However, the Jupiter server would randomly restart as a result of core components being corrupted.

It is standard procedure before any Windows upgrade that a complete server image (backup) is taken. We installed a second hard drive/partition on the Jupiter server and the backup was imaged and booted from this drive.

All web site services are now online and all services functioning. No data was lost.

It is essential that Jupiter clients are upgraded to the latest Plesk and Windows service pack to provide a more secure, stable and up to date hosting environment. A newer and faster server is being provisioned with the latest Windows and Plesk software pre-installed.

In the near future, our staff will manually transfer Jupiter accounts to the new server. A new server status notice will be posted regarding this. We have also contacted Plesk in relation to this transfer and they will provide professional support services to ensure minimal disruption.

In the meantime, client’s can request to be moved from the Jupiter server to another Windows Server at any time, free of charge before our internal transfer. Our Technical support staff will be able to assist you with this process and setup your account on a new Windows server.

MD’s management hopes that our technical support team responded professionally in their communication with our clients regarding the Jupiter issue. We welcome any feedback in this area to help us improve.

We thank you for your understanding, continued support and business. MD is offering all customers on the Jupiter server 1 month free hosting towards their current hosting package. To receive this offer, login to My Account and submit a ticket to the Accounts department before 5pm, 05/02/2006 with your free month hosting request.
(This server status notice replaces all previous posts regarding this issue.) |
