楼主,你是打算写很多主题帖还是打算垒一个高楼?年版说的百帖一开始让人误以为是100个主题,其实是100层楼。

期待你继续~

Staying in one's comfort zone today makes him/her uncomfortable tomorrow.

My learning curve is a process of fighting with my comfort:

I don't know I don't know ---comfortable
I know I don't know --guilty
I don't know I know --lost
I know I know --comfortable

Fortunately I'm now at stage 2.

【9】'Why' on English ...

a. Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?

Why do our noses run but our feet smell?

Why there's no egg in eggplant, no pine or apple in pineapple?

Why does Quicksand (流沙) works slowly?

Writers write, readers read and singers sing, but why don't fingers fing?

Why do we say a hot girl is cool?

Why quite a lot and quite a few are the same?

Anyway,Chinese could be more confusing....

想读一下一些关于FTA的新闻,还是贴到这里吧,希望楼主不要介意。看起来有标题有一丁点相关嘛,不是有人问题自由贸易和通胀什么关系吗?

G20峰会:11月,澳洲
APEC:11月,北京

http://www.abc.net.au/am/content/2014/s4123411.htm
China Australia FTA imminent
CHRIS UHLMANN: The Prime Minister Tony Abbott will arrive in Beijing over the weekend with Australia and China believed to be close to signing off on a free trade agreement soon.

Tony Abbott will be in China for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) leaders meeting.

Our China correspondent Stephen McDonell has been talking to people who know the details of the free trade agreement.

Well, Stephen McDonell, apart from APEC this weekend, Australia's eyes are on the G20 and signing a free trade agreement so are things getting closer in the lead-up to APEC?

STEPHEN MCDONELL: Well, in terms of a free trade deal, they're close, but they want to be able to sign this deal to make a big thing of it when president Xi Jinping visits Australia during the G20.

And so there are frantic negotiations to finish this off and basically it means that today is the day bureaucratically so that that could be announced officially during president Xi Jinping's visit to Australia.

CHRIS UHLMANN: Any idea what's in it?

STEPHEN MCDONELL: I've actually been speaking to those who are close to the negotiation.

What they're saying is that for example the sugar industry is going to miss out altogether, that the dairy industry is looking for a catch-up provision with the Kiwis. So we want the same deal that New Zealand has but with some built-in mechanism whereby Australia can catch up in a couple of years.

Apparently the coal tariff is going to be dropped.

And they're talking also about the free movement or much freer movement of labour. Now that would mean, in theory, this would be very controversial, but that Chinese workers could come to Australia. And again, in theory, that could mean that a Chinese company would be able to build the Brisbane to Melbourne high speed rail link in a couple of years, for example.
由中国公司建墨尔本和布里斯班之间的高铁....

Now that would be very controversial, to have workers come from another country to do that sort of thing. But it's one of things that have got on the table and the Chinese are keen to push that through.

Intellectual property though is also apparently a big headache at this stage also in terms of negotiations.

CHRIS UHLMANN: What about the Asian infrastructure bank which China wants Australia to join but we haven't at this stage?

STEPHEN MCDONELL: Yes, well the Foreign Minister is up here as well as the Trade Minister, will be having to explain in her meetings why it is that Australia pulled out of this and China was under the impression that we were going to be part of this Chinese initiative.

But the Security Committee of Cabinet agreed and went along with what the United States has suggested and we've pulled out. China's not very happy about this as you can imagine and so there will be some discussions about that.

CHRIS UHLMANN: Finally Beijing is famous for its pollution, what's the sky looking like at the moment?

STEPHEN MCDONELL: Well, it's actually absolutely beautiful the weather here at the moment. And what China's able to do because of the nature of the economy here is turn everything off. So all of the factories in Hebei, which is the area around Beijing, and even inner Mongolia, they've just been switched off for the duration of APEC. Plus half the cars have been ordered off the road in an odds and evens numberplate system.

哈哈,天气很好,临时关闭工厂就可以了,世博会的上海,天也很蓝。。。。

And it's worked. A bit of wind has come along and the weather is absolutely beautiful. You've got these huge blue skies which people are so unfamiliar with in Beijing. But it's actually led to this expression that's taken off on the internet, something called APEC blue.
