简历,还是要再谈谈简历

突然觉得简历有很多误区要借机会讲一下。
先从雇主的角度来看。一份简历一般就看1分钟的样子,1分钟的思想过程是什么呢?哦她以前做过什么什么,但是跟我现在的事情好像不是完全相关啊,经验还是不足呢。。。再看看别人吧。
这是通常的想法。因为工作和工作间总归有不一样的地方
所以我们的目标是把别人的想法变成这样:哦她以前做过什么什么,哦她说什么什么对于这个工作能起到这样的作用,恩,好像是很有用的经历,联系一下吧
很多人简历里缺少的一个关联,就是application. 你要说明你的经验为什么能apply于现在的职位,这样才可以。
明白了这一点,就可以探索一下格式和内容了。我们随便从seek上找个工作举例说明

Data is the lifeblood of ERM's decision making in trading, risk analysis, financial reporting, settlements and evaluation of existing contracts and opportunities in the market. The Data Team is responsible for understanding and optimising data streams, making data more accessible to business users.
Key accountabilities include:

以上工作的雇主,在找人时会找这样几个catch word:
knowledge of data analysis in financial reporting and forcasting

于是写简历的时候,就要保证catch word一直轮番出现,提醒雇主你就是非常适合的人选
比如如果一段经历是这样的:
Data Analyst at ABC Co 20XX - 20XX
你就要用bullet points或者其他什么形式把这个经历中跟这个工作有关的事情非常详细的列出来
Key responsibilities include: Efficiently supported a team of XX in accomplishing *** project(s) - describe in detail
Calculated supply and demand with integrated use of SQL and Excel, and prepared data/charts monthly/quarterly for XXX financial report
Extracted ** data from ** and manipulated ** for ** purposes and updated/constructed database for ***
Experienced with financial forecasting/reporting with Excel
Proactively collaborated with departments A, B and C
Accomplished assigned tasks within scoping of cost and time
Proficient in: Oracle SQL, Access, Excel
然后别人看到才会觉得需要用你啊。如果单单是说 Data Analyst at ABC Co 20XX - 20XX ,马上就被扔掉了。原则上是经验丰富的童鞋可以每个工作列最相关的6个bullet points,然后每项工作可以提现不同的价值。经验不是非常丰富的就尽量在一份工作里把能说的要说的都说完吧。。。
当然,不是每份工作都能完美的把对方的要求都齐全的。这时就要尽量把你做过的事情和对方要求的事情搭上边。
综上所述,对于每份工作,如果有修改简历的必要,就要相应的修改一下。不要以为解释相关性只是cover letter里的事情,简历是别人先看的。对你简历没兴趣的话可能都不会看cv. |
