VicRoads表示,调查发现使用移动手机的驾车者出车祸的几率比没有的人高出三倍。
英文原文:Please be informed that from the 9th of November this year, it will be illegal to place a mobile phone in your lap or touch a mobile phone while driving. Instead, you must use hands free equipment and secure the phone in a commercially available cradle. This applies to GPS units also.
It is believed that the fine for a violation will be in the order of $250 + 3 demerit points.
Below is an excerpt from the flyer, however I encourage you to read it in its entirety.
Mobile phones
Using a mobile phone while driving is prohibited except if:
*--The driver is making or receiving a phone call on a hands free unit.
*--The phone is secured in a commercially designed holder fixed to the vehicle.
*--The phone can be operated by the driver without touching any part of the phone.
All other functions (including video calls, texting and emailing) are prohibited.
Holding the phone (whether or not engaged in a phone call) is also prohibited. Holding includes resting the mobile on the driver's lap.
Please kindly pass on this information to your family members and friends.
