2011 CENSUS – AREA SUPERVISOR RECRUITMENT
The next national Census of Population and Housing will be conducted on the night of Tuesday 9 August 2011. The Census aims to accurately measure the number of people in Australia on Census night, their key characteristics, and the dwellings in which they live.
To assist in the preparation and operation of the Census, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is recruiting over 3,500 Area Supervisors nationally, over 1,100 of which will be in NSW and the ACT.
Quality Area Supervisors are vital to the success of the Census and to their communities. All households need to be counted correctly to ensure data is as accurate and reliable as possible. Data collected by the Census supports planning, decision-making and funding at all levels of government.
If you are interested in a flexible short term position apply online at www.abs.gov.au/census or call 1800 420 182. Applications open 12 February and close on 4 March 2011.
