Sparkling make-up from Lancôme’s Aaron De Mey
Designers at Givenchy and Dqsuared2 made glitter-flecked eyes look chic at the recent autumn/winter shows. And remember Prada's lamé lids the season before that? But for real-life models comes a common beauty conundrum: can saturated-sparkle eye make-up look good beyond your Blue Light disco days? And if so, how to wear it?

Lancôme’s creative director Aaron De Mey has two words for you: Ombre Magnétique, his compact pots of creamy next-gen glitter designed to add depth and look-at-me sparkle to eyes of all ages.

These solid Ombre Magnétique shimmer pots, star products within the make-up wizard’s French Coquettes collection, come in three luxe shades: Cherry Choice, Urban Silver or Black Macadamu, as shown here on models Daria Werbowy and Elettra Wiedemann. And as De Mey explains you can go for a little or a lot of these highly pigmented pots in creating light-reflecting lids.

“Simply add the black or cherry shade along the lash line then quickly smudge using fingertips,” De Mey says. “The Urban silver shade is a first-of-its kind highlighter: just a touch on the inner corner of eyes instantly brightens them.”

The unique flexible technology allows the glitter to glide on smooth and stay put for up to 24 hours – that’s if your new-found disco moves last that long.
