Updates
11 August 2010 - General Skilled Migration - State Sponsorships - South Australia
Sponsorship Applications in the Immigration SA pipeline
Applicants who have complete applications in the pipeline with Immigration SA will be pleased to know that your application will be processed if your Nominated Occupation is considered to be priority for our State. Emails are being sent to all those applications which fit into this category (including revisits). Do not contact Immigration SA, check your emails regularly.
If sponsorship is granted, you will have 30 days to lodge your visa application with DIAC. Processing of the applications by Immigration SA in this category should be completed within 6 weeks. Immigration SA is unable to advise on DIAC’s processing times of subsequent visa applications.
State Migration Plans (SMP)
Due to the Federal Elections on 21 August 2010 and the Federal Government/Department of Immigration and Citizenship being in ‘Caretaker mode’, the SMP will not be finalised before September 2010. Monitor this website for updates.
Other Applications:
A) Sponsorship Applications left in the pipeline
These applications will remain in the Immigration SA ‘pipeline’ until the State Migration Plan, the List of Occupations and associated criteria are implemented. Applicants who have expressed their interest to remain in the pipeline for State Sponsorship will be assessed accordingly in due course. There is no precise date when the SMP will be finalised – monitor this website regularly for Updates.
B) Incomplete and other applications
Applications that were received as “Incomplete” or whose documents have expired, etc should check the Online Client Tracking system to identify the status of your application. Incomplete applications or documents that have expired will not be processed. Monitor this website and submit a completely new application under the State Migration Plan if you wish to seek State Sponsorship.
C) New Sponsorship Applications
At this stage, Immigration SA is not accepting any new applications for Sponsorship. Monitor this website for an Update on when new sponsorship applications will be accepted by Immigration SA. Applicants must have their Nominated Occupation on the new List and meet all other requirements to be successful for Sponsorship.
The provision for Off List Sponsorships will also be available in due course and the associated criteria and requirements will be published when finalised and ready for implementation. |
