In some countries young people are encouraged to work or travel for a year between finishing high school and starting university studies.
Discuss the advantages and disadvantages for young people who decide to do this.

After a long school life, the young people are advised to have a break through working or travelling outside. In this essay, I will state my opinion about their decision to do some social activities before their entry into the university.

The first and most obvious benefit from working outside during this period is that the young people can learn more about their future study. Everyone may have his own and different interest in subjects in university and chose different work, which is relative to his future major. During the work they can gain some special technology and social skills, which they can’t learn in university.  At the meantime they also can get warm-up knowledge that they will learn in their major.

Furthermore, young people can find that whether or not the work is suitable for them after a period of working.  We can imagine the two raising results; one is that they find the work and their future majors fix them very well so that it can stimulate their talents and interests in their future study. The other is that they don’t like the work at all, but they still have opportunity to make a change in their future majors. No matter how, they benefit a lot from their working or travelling experience.  

Admittedly, one-year work or traveling is superfluous for young people. they should give priority to their study. Getting a degree from the university is far more important than working. The professional knowledge learned from university makes it possible to contribute to the society and provide them more chances of being successful.

In short, young people can finally profit from doing social activities such as working or travelling outside after graduating from high school. Making money and spending in these activities are not their aims. Therefore, I believe these activities play a critical role for getting ready for their future life.

我觉得写得非常好, 没有严重的语法和用词错误. 要是考试中你能写出同样水平的文章, 6分是肯定有的.

如果还没有去考，提一点参考，作文考试有点八股文的意思，请参考作文评分标准，对应每一项评分标准，您的作文里就要有相应的部分，比如，审题要对，议论文要有论点，要有分论点，分论点要有论据，要有复杂结构的句子，等等，只要这些都有，6分没有问题，在背2，3句不错的，通用的经典，更好（只用句型，不能整个套用）
我考作文的时候，单词量大概1500，语法没有复习，第一次6.5，第二次6分，就按照上面的原则准备的
