Marine Leading Hand - Mechanical

The Mermaid Slipway located in Dampier is part of a dynamic, integrated Supply Base and is strategically positioned to take advantage of new developments on the North-West Shelf and in the Carnarvon Basin, plus large onshore projects on the Burrup.
In line with our expanding business, we have an excellent opportunity for a self motivated individual to fill the role of Marine Leading Hand- Mechanical.
You will be reporting to the Slipway Superintendent and utilise your mechanical expertise to:
Co-ordinate all slipway mechanical activities by diagnosis and repair of all engine, marine transmission, propulsion and hydraulic system installations;
Supervision of mechanical fitter/s and apprentice/s;
Maintenance of all equipment and infrastructure associated with the Slipway facility;
Procurement of materials and services associated with Slipway projects; and
Take ownership for the hours budgeted on each activity under your control.
You will need a comprehensive knowledge of repairs and maintenance on marine vessels, previous supervisory experience and strong interpersonal skills for this hands-on role. A Mechanical Trade qualification and previous marine experience is essential.
