Useful information you can provide us
We collect all information the community offers us about tax evasion. Depending on the nature of the allegation we need a certain amount of information to start investigating.
If the information relates to a person, not a business, it is helpful to provide us with:
their full name, address, work address, employer (if employed), name of business if self employed (see below), phone numbers, date of birth, ABN, bank account details, spouse’s name, and
the nature of the tax evasion taking place (for example, if they are receiving cash in hand), their work details, employer's name, any assets that indicate they have a higher income than they are declaring and any documentary evidence confirming the tax evasion.
If the information relates to a business, it is helpful to provide us with:
the name, trading name, address, phone number, tax agent, director's names and addresses, business bank account details, number of employees, ABN or ACN, the industry, and
the nature of the tax evasion taking place, such as who they pay cash wages, the type of transactions that are not recorded, when they don't declare cash, when they accept cash, if they offer discounts for cash payments with no receipt or tax invoice, the approximate length of time the tax evasion has been occurring and any documentary evidence confirming the tax evasion.
