请问临床医学学位和检验工作背景在澳洲的出路

本科学位：  临床医学   （5年）
硕士学位：  生化与分子生物学  （3年）
工作经验：  三甲医院检验科（从事分子生物学和免疫方面的工作）   （4年）
职业评估：  Biochemist  (生物化学家)

请问：

1、在澳洲从事医院检验科工作的机会大不大？ 需要考哪些试？IELTS一定要A类吗？
   申请AIMS的 Medical Scientist 职业评估是否有很大帮助？它的专业考试有没有参考资料，难度有多大？

2、以 Biochemist 评估结果和 Master of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology学位可否找到 laboratory technician， research assistant 之类的工作？

3、 如果以上都很难，是不是考虑转行护士或B超技术人员，具体读什么专业、学费、IELTS要求等，有哪些相关的网站？

4、以上三个选择的薪酬、工作强度如何？

请大家指点，提供宝贵建议，非常谢谢

楼主的学历已经很高了，觉得转行做其他似乎很可惜。
觉得楼主是否有可能拿国内的文凭在澳洲继续读一个硕士，然后找合适的工作呢？
护士的话，大学有专门的护士本科专业大，B超人员大学也有相关专业，不过这些估计楼主读的话也只能从本科读起了。至少3年。读MEDICAL RADIATION还要加一年实习，就是4年了。
不过我也挺关心楼主的职业发展方向的，有机会可以交流下。

读博士可以，要做医生，现在很难

单单以学历来说，你已经足够做research assistant或 lab technician. RA工资在4－5万左右，技术要求高。工资一般根据所在实验室的经济情况和你的经验已及工作能力定，这些大部分研究所都有标准。 Lab Tech 工资比较低，三万多。但是对你的技术要求也没有那么高。如果你要入这行最重要的是英语要过关，要能和老板沟通实验结果，最好有小鼠实验的技术。在墨尔本找RA和Lab Tech的工作还是比较容易的，但是大多都是内部介绍的，所以如果你有朋友做这行的话，请他们帮你留意一下。墨尔本比较大的大学，象Melbourne Uni, Monash, 还有大型研究所包括，Peter macCallum Cancer centre, Ludwigh cancer centre, WEHI, Murdoch institute, St Vincent institute 都有免疫学的实验室，你可以上他们网站上看一下他们是否招人。

Get IELTS 7, then pass AIMS  test, you will be a medical scientist. you can work in a hospital's pathology lab.

Hospital Pathologh is much suitable for you.
Income is much better then work in labs.
You can google your specialty in Oz.
Do you homework before you come.

横向的竖向的想想，不要只狭窄的想象医院和试验室之类的领域，供应链上的 500 公司多的是，还有，澳洲的科研机构如 CSIRO

例如：生产科学分析仪器的公司，药厂和药厂的供货商

超声波是硕士学位， 本科一般是要从医学影像学毕业，不过其他医科护理科的可以考虑，很多课要补上。  b超师混的好的和专科医生差不多，最差的也有至少7万多（WA的毕业都7万了），一般的就在8-10多万之间，payscale salary calculator上的typical wage是55$/小时（10.3万），不算bonus, over time, on call。 做腹部小件妇科类收入<肌骨骼类<血管<=心脏（乳房，神经和胚胎心脏的通途较少），心血管专家是超声波映像里收入最高的，据说cardiac sonographer (echocardiographer) 起薪就10万+。  sonographer的官方叫法是Medical Radiation Scientist。



Entry Requirements for U. of Sydney Master of Medical Sono：

In order to qualify for admission to this course, applicants should have;

i A diploma or degree in Medical Radiation Sciences,

OR

ii A degree or diploma in a relevant area (e.g. nursing). Such applicants may be advised to make up any deficiencies in identified areas of assumed knowledge (e.g. physics, medical imaging modalities),

OR

iii An approved professional diploma, associated diploma or certificate in nuclear medicine sciences, ultrasound or radiography plus completion of a designated qualifying program,

OR

iv Some other form of qualification and experience which is considered by the Head of Discipline to be of sufficient merit to warrant their admission to the graduate diploma course. Such applicants may be required to complete a designated qualifying program prior to admission.

AND

At least one year of relevant work experience (in the field of their undergraduate studies)

AND

Be working in the field of medical sonography for the duration of the course (minimum 18hrs per week)

其实挺想找医院里的工作，研究所的科研工作总觉得有点难，我没有创造性的思维，生活按部就班，又有点顽固，不灵活，呵呵
IELTS能考到7的， 但AIMS的必须课程里有Chemistry,我大学里学的是临床，只包括Medical Chemistry 和 Biochemistry，所以就觉得是不是不能申请？

两位朋友提到了hospital's pathology lab？ 我们医院检验科和病理科是分开的2个科室，我的专业又是生化和分子生物，不是病理学。所以我既没有病理学的学历（只是大学里学过这门课而已），也没有病理学的工作经验，还有可能找这样的工作机会吗？澳洲医院招人一般会发布在他们自己的网站上吗？网址大家有吗？

医学放射学（影像学）是3年+1年临床实习，临床实习是带薪的，好像是4万多-6万多不等吧，这个我也不太清楚。  其实就算是不读硕士的话薪水也不低了， 毕业起薪也该有6万了吧（不知道你学的是radiography, nuclear medicine, 还是radiation therapy）， 而且影像学是很好找工作的，澳洲紧缺diagnostic radiographer（所有医疗行业都很好找），所以硕士不是很有用。  

如果读硕的话可以选specialization，比如CT。 如果是radiography的话做到director这种职位的时候在公立医院大概是8万多（参考QLD的health award salary guideline，Medical Radiation Scientist，这个数字应该是QLD法定最低收入），但在私营医院、诊所里的话薪水普遍要比公立医院高。

Pathology lab in a hospital is not only limited to pahtology, it has biochemistry, haematology, histology, microbiology, general and blood bank sometimes. It is all in one department here in OZ.

Could i ask another question that is it necessary to pass the assessment of " Medical Scientist" by AIMS before getting an offer from hospital pathology lab? Is there such entry requirement for every hospital in au?  Or it depends more on your capabilities as well as language skills.

As i mentioned before, "Chemistry" is a required course in AIMS, but i only took "Medical chemistry" and "Biochemistry" at university. So it seems hopeless for me to pass AIMS.

我觉得你的背景可以直接申请medical scientist or research assistant.不需要任何本地的课程或培训。
for medical scientist, 你可以申请免疫的， 病理的或生化的。 我只了解病理的， 你可以做molecular genetics or molecular haemotology, 应用的是PCR and sequencing and DNA/RNA extraction technology. 只要你说会做这些， 并有学历证明就可以了。这里找人就是想找有经验，来了就能干活的，还有脾气好的。 你可以申请那些几个月的或一年的合同工， 其实到期后如果干的好很可能拿到长期职位。 或有了经验很容易找到相似的工作。 for lab technician , 这个工作起点太低了。工资也很少。for medical scientist, you can check the website of hospital or seek, such as royal melbourne, peter mac, royal children....,  good luck

没有AIMS评估，可以直接申请 Medical Scientist 啊？
如果这样，那就太好了，我只要努力学英语，争取再考一次IELTS考到7以上吧，给自己的简历加加分（现在只有6.5）

I was assessed as a medical scientist by AIMS. Did you go to their website and have a look? If you want to work in a hospital path lab, I thought it's the only way you can go. And English country, Pathological lab include historpath , biochemical and others. Not the same concept in China.

Only AIMS can assess you as a medical scientist.

我知道Medical Scientist 只有AIMS评估的，但AIMS要求必修课里有Chemistry，我在大学里只学过Biochemistry 和 Medical Chemistry， 所以我想是肯定不能通过的，是这样吗？

没有AIMS 的 Medical Scientist 职业评估，就没有资格找 hospital path lab 的工作，是这样吗？

YOU CAN GET A LAB ASSISTANT JOB. EVERYBODY CAN DO IT. YOU SHOULD PASS THE ASSESSMENT AND PASS AIMS TEST, THEN BECOME A MEMBER OF AIMS. THEN YOU CAN GET A MEDICAL SCIENTIST POSTION IN HOSPITAL PATH LAB. PLS CHECK ON AIMS WEBSITE. SOMETHING MAYBE ALREADY CHANGED.ver

i dont think that the assessment is necessary. i am a medical scientist now. i did not get the assessment from any australia department. last month, our department want to hire some medical scientists, they did not need the AIMS assessment. what they want is that you can do the molecular test independently. you can say you were a medical scientist in china and can do these test. of course, they will ask you questions about the details, such as the what machine, what reagent, how to do when meeting problem.....

they dont need the score of any English test. they only assess you when they call you and interview you. so be confident and have a good CV to attract their eyesight and get a chance of interview.

Agree with LS,
You can ask hospital directly, if they are desperate to find someone, they do not care weither you have a AIMS certificate or not, as long as you can do the job and communicate with colleagues.
But from the long time point of view, you will need a certificate to change job easily in the future, also that will give you a peace of mind.
What I suggest.
1. prepare your background paperwork, improve your English at the same time.
2. contact hospitals or look through career website, send them your CV and support doc.
3. prepare up to 3 referees who can speak English, they will contact one of them before they give you a job. (very important)
4. Prepare interview.

you don't have to have the assessment, but if you can pass and get a membership of AIMS, it will be helpful for applying a scientific job in laboratory. For AIMS assessment,they apply different critira to different cadidate depands on their discipline.eg you do not need have more chemistry knowledge if you are a microbiologist. but anyway this kind assessment is not mandatory. For my opinion, if you do not have local experience, a membership from AIMS & AACB will have you locate a good job from the beginning.

As far as i know, those doctors, nurses who pursue clinical profession must pass relevant examination  to get licence before starting their career. Is this the same case for lab technologist in au? Is there special license for medical scientist, lab technologist or lab technician ? Should I get a license before landing a job in hospital lab?
