Applicants affected by the Capital Investment Scheme who decide to lodge a new visa application must meet all the eligibility criteria for the new GSM visa. If you are unable to meet the requirement of study within the last 6 months, you will need to lodge an application for an offshore visa.
You should include a cover note stating that you have a current undecided GSM application.
• If you are onshore, to avoid your Bridging Visa (BVA or BVB) ceasing, do not withdraw your current application until your new application has been decided.
• If you are offshore, you should also include a cover letter with your application stating that you have a current undecided GSM application.
Applicants who decide to lodge a new GSM visa application must pay a new VAC.
If you have already been assigned a case officer, you should contact your case officer to inform them you have lodged a second GSM application.
In cirumstances where a case officer was assigned to the current application which is impacted by the capital investment issue and a new application is lodged with complete documentation, every effort will be made to process the new application as a priority.
If you have not been assigned a case officer, you should also include a cover note stating that you are lodging another GSM application because of the Capital Investment Scheme. Your second application will be allocated a case officer at the same time as your initial GSM application.
