However if students study hard and gain a very good result in the Australian Maritime College or in the WA Challenger TAFE, the teacher will guide or tutor he or she to join the Master Mariner club which will guide or tutor he or she know someone.
Especially in WA Challenger TAFE, most of their teachers are very senior mariner and very senior members of Master Mariner of Australian. He or she could meet GM of AMSA, senior pilot, HR or general manager of oil and shipping company every month.
They are very good people too. I was guided too. I always attended the meeting every month when I was in Perth. It is very pleasant to attend that meetings.
The teacher will recommend he or she as well if some member is looking for the employee, he or she could gain the job immediately.
For a second officer of the tug
The wage is approximately 150,000 plus + 14.5% Super, 4 weeks on 4 weeks off or 5 weeks on or 5 weeks off.
However I believe the offshore industry could be same as mining after approximately 3 years.
Therefore, please think about it again before anyone want to start the maritime course and marine career. |
