Why I don't see it that way? It seems to me both of you are enjoying it and this meaningless word exchanging can be stretched out forever.

You are definitely overrating my English skills, there are many more fluent speakers on this forum (such as yourself, EmilyS, chubbycat etc), I tend to make grammatical mistakes from time to time due to lack of good foundation, so I don't deserve to be talked about as some kind of guru...in terms of the quarrel, you have put up a  good argument and I'll consider it, where exactly is this English column you are talking about?

That's good, at least this is a win win situation then. On the other hand, my intention is to build him a reputation that aligns with his character, it is getting there

perhaps...but what is the alternative? stopping will just reinforce the message that as long as you are a jerk, everyone will just back off and stay out of your way...this is the kind of environment that breed bullies

Firstly I don't think that guy is a real bully.  
Secondly, if you are really fighting a bully, your fight is awful.
