求翻译一起汽车事故

前段时间下大雨，我公公驾车到一家店去买牛奶，开进店前面的停车场地时，旁边停着的一辆车倒车，我公公按喇叭提醒他，但是因为雨非常大，对方司机没看清楚，他倒车的时候正好撞到了我公公的车，把左后灯的灯盖撞坏了。现在我像保险公司claime, 但是对方不明白具体怎么回事，请坛子里的高手帮忙翻译一下：“我的车开进店前面的停车地，旁边一辆车在倒车，因为雨很大，我按了喇叭提示，但是对方没看清，撞到了我的左后车灯，把灯盖撞坏了。”谢谢啦！

When I drove into the car park, a car nearby was reversing out of its parking space. The driver of the car failed to notice me even if I sounded my horn, perhaps because  it was raining heavily. He/she crashed into my left rear light and damaged it.

小建议, 第一句可以说成:
When I was driving into the car park, a car nearby reversed out of its parking space.
语气上表达你是正常行驶的

When I( my father-in-law) was driving into a parking spot in front of  a xxxxx shop,


or

When I was almost parking into the shop car park,the car parked beside me started to reverse ( or back out). I(my father-in-law) horned to alert the driver but since it was raining hard, the driver (or he/she) didn't notice and hit my L/H tail light and broke( or damaged) it.

or the car crashed into my car and broke/damaged my left-hand tail light and ...
or the car bumped into my ....

I was scared to death and  posted this thread to ask for help

那个车正在倒车，lz 为什么不注意那辆车？

这种事情要说清楚谁该负责

时态错了？原文是“我的车开进店前面的停车地，旁边一辆车在倒车，因为雨很大，我按了喇叭提示，但是对方没看清，撞到了我的左后车灯，把灯盖撞坏了。”
语言差异，中文的时态总是比不得英语，需要分析着看。时间发生在过去所以是过去式，这个没异议吧？至于采用我所用的一般过去时，还是三、五楼用的过去进行时，区别主要是，过去进行式更强调当时开车的动作正在进行，让人感觉事故发生时楼主公公的车仍在动，而一般过去时只表现做了开车趴车的动作，并不特别体现撞车时楼主公公的车是仍在动还是不动了。我没觉得时态有问题，我觉得两可吧，主要看楼主是想突出什么了。
“When I was almost parking into the shop car park...”  这句话倒是有些问题，主要问题在于这个almost，你可以说“When I was parking into the car park..."也可以说”when I was almost parked into the car park...“，但”When I was almost parking into the shop car park..."

公公说是对方的错，因为撞到了以后对方给了他相关的信息，而没有要我公公的信息，当时雨可能下太大了，公公的车开到里面去，也不知道对方是已经正在倒车还是我公公开进去才倒的车，谁知道，公公回来就说是对方的错。

这个你放心，说一千道一万也不会有lz的责任的。这个责任应当很容易分清的，不管楼主公公的车是在动着还是停着，倒车出车位的司机总是有观察避让的义务的。
