A little fun for today.
A grumpy grandpa had been on the edge for a whole night and made the night shift miserable for the staff. Docs decided to send him home today after finding nothing wrong with him.
When I asked him who would be able to pick him up, he said: My wife. But when you call her, don't tell her I am going home. Otherwise she would say "Please keep him there."
I laughed: If she said that, I wouldn't wonder why.

Not long ago, I read something about love in FreeOz, analyzing what role a man takes in every love story.
In love, man is just like an onion knight. If you wonder what is inside of him, you will have to peel off the skin layer after layer. You just can't stop crying while you walk your way inside (Peeling off the layers). However, when you finally get there in the core, you would find nothing in there.
Sounds a bit depressing, doesn't it? I hope I didn't destroy the beauty of the original masterpiece.

我也读过那一篇, 挺有意思,但有点悲观.
你写的读起来很流畅, 少了一分悲凉,多了一分你那些病人的调侃语气.

I couldn't feel a thing just looking at what I interpreted, maybe that's not what it really meant.
Anyway, it's just my trial and error. I am sure I will get there if I keep trying.
Tomorrow, maybe I will try to translate a famous chinese text message that went viral a few years back, which was about Ben Laden's three followers' failure to succeed in their evil tasks in China.
It was mocking the prevail theft incidents in the crowd, bridge layout and media's strict regulations in china.
我还没见过把俚语,固定用语运用得如此华丽机灵的!

我读大学的时候 曾经读到个文章 题目描写今天的中国
A MONSTROUS COMBINATION OF ECONOMIC DYNAMISM AND POLITICAL ANARCHRONISM
英文里很漂亮
不过翻译成漂亮简洁的中文不容易 尤其一个醒目的新闻报道的标题我觉得很难
曾经还读到一个人抱怨电影的色情和暴力说 荧幕上都是 “BREASTS AND BLOODS”
我读的第一个中文反应就是 “枕头和拳头”
物体变了 意思非常一样
而且“头”对“B” 很难得
上次还要胡锦涛说的中国政府要“不折腾”
御用翻译是直接用汉语拼音 现场就是BU ZHE TENG
后来很多人翻译了 我记得原澳洲大师傅颖的翻译最好 但是现在一时忘了 我想起来 再贴
大家也想想:D

Years ago, three terrorists A, B and C from Al-Qaeda were deployed to China. Their evil activities were to A: Blast a huge supermarket; B: Blow up a multi-level intersection (立交桥); C: Explode a big coal mine.
A few days later, three of them fled back (潜回) to Al-Qaeda headquarter to report their accomplishments to Ben Laden.
A was executed immediately for failing to blast the supermarket he was allocated to. Because as soon as he entered the market, he was instantly mingled with (被掺入) the huge waves of shopping-goers (买东西的人流). It was so crowded that he didn't even realize the bomb was stolen until he was about to place it.
B didn't succeed in exploding the multi-level intersection either, because soon after he got on top of the bridge, he became disorientated (眩晕,迷失方向) straight away and couldn't tell apart (辨不清) entrances and exits, he wouldn't explode the bomb without knowing how he could escape from the bridge. He was, of course, granted the same doom fate (死亡的命运) as A.
C, to the contrary (相反地), did such a great job succeeding in (成功地实施了) his evil assignment. In northern China, a big coal mine was exploded and caused numerous fatalities (死亡) and casualties (重伤). Ben Laden was very pleased about C's achievement. The complimentary dinner (庆功宴) was hosted by Ben Laden in C's honor (向 C 表示敬意), and C was hailed as their ethnic hero (民族英雄).
However, six months later, Ben Laden summoned C to the headquarter in a rage (勃然大怒), because he hadn't seen any report on this huge incident coming from any media or authorities of any level (任何层次的媒体跟政府部门), which made no sense to him at all (他根本就不能理解) how come 怎么会呢 any government or press would remain silent (保持缄默) if such a huge disaster happened.
Therefore, Ben Laden was so convinced that C had been lying about his accomplishment, which was so against (有悖于) their belief and culture. C was sentenced to hanging 处以绞刑 due to his lying crime 撒谎罪.
Wish this will justify the original version!
