Hoyt’s ready for session in spotlight

SHE may have formerly fitted snugly into the struggling musician category but Elly Hoyt is no longer singing for her supper.
  Tow weeks ago, Hoyt was your typical musical student – stars in her eyes and moths in her pockets.
  Today she’s $5000 better off ,but the most valuable part of her win in the James Morrison Generation In Jazz Vocal Scholarship 2008 is the opportunity itself.
  Hoyt is into her second year of a bachelor of music, majoring in jazz voice, at the Queensland  Conservatorium of Music and her win makes her the fourth students from the academy to win the award since it started five years ago.
Hoyt, 21 , said she planned to invest her prize money in her first solo album.
“I want to keep on singing and working around the scene,” she said.
