Private school, worth it?

I don't see any reason to let my kids to go to private school and offer them significant advantage to get to university to study medicine to be a doctor or dentist.

I live in P.R.China before I turn to age 26 and I studied in ordinary school and ordinary university. My family just like all other chinese family and we did not have the concept of private school at my age. I think I did a lot better than most kiwis. I manage to get mortgage free house at age 38 and the house is worth around nzd800,000 :-)

My understanding is which ones do you think will give your child(ren) more on the non-academic fields, like helping them learn how to interact with others; helping turn them into fully formed adults, etc..

In other words, do you think the private schools are only in the same level on these aspects (expect the academic) compared to the public ones or not the same?

I admit you are (were) a very financial successful man! you made so much money! While, just like what you said, how to assess a student is "successful  or not" not only depends on his or her academic performance.
How to assess a man is "successful or not" not only depends on how much he or she earns.

Personally I believe a person with compassion, contented mind, willingness to help etc.. not only how wealthy he or she is. So if put these before a rich man, that makes more sense (only my understanding).

If that is the case, it is irrelevant to go to private school. I think do community work will be better suited for such purpose. :-)
