WHERE? If you are in north queensland, those are stinger suits to prevent jellyfish stings.
If you are anywhere BUT northen queensland, you can wear whatever you want - BUT, wetsuits can help you keep warm in cold seasons, and rash vest well, prevent rash!

上面的回答很经典了。其实冬天就穿长袖的WETSUIT，价格在200=600之间，根据弹性和防水性来的。短袖的叫SPRING WETSUIT，价格稍微少些。其实建议穿长袖的，因为还有防晒功能，冬天保暖功能在400以上的酒非常好了，玩完里面还是干的。作者: katsura 时间: 3-1-2011 12:20
Yep - in Queesnland I think a 3/2 is more than enough for the winter, but if you live somewhere in VIC or TAS, then maybe a 4/3 or 5mm is necessary in the cold months.
Beware, that the thicker the wetsuit, the more difficult it is to paddle.
