Dear Ms XX
Thank you for your email of 12 April 2012about on road driving experience Supervisor requirements.
A Supervisor must hold a Queensland Class C Open licence or an equivalent valid interstate/overseas licence, andit must have been current for at least one (1) year.
If the Supervisor holds a class CA (automatic)open licence, they may only supervise driving sessions in a car fittedwith an automatic transmission. However, if the Supervisor holdsa class C open licence, they may supervise driving sessions in a car with either automatic or manual transmissions. A Supervisor may be a family member, a friend or an accredited driver trainer. A Supervisor must be seated in the passenger seat next to the learner driver. A learner may have more than one Supervisor during their learning period,but only one Supervisor per driving session.
Please note, when learning to drive a LearnerLicence holder must also carry their licence with them at times.
