Chained women (草稿)

Chained women

By 欧阳京

Chained women,
When will you be free?
You are blossom of the earth,
Once compared to a summer's day.

You wrote the thing with feathers,
Which still perches in my soul,
Weathered so many boundaries,
And evil seas, I am finally found ashore~

It still sings the song, not the one without words, of course,
but Un Bel Di,
before I see the dagger,
Blade towards me,

Heart, bleeding love and sympathy,
Love of all, sympathy of none,
Keep us as far away as
In this desperate wasteland,
"Your conscious and me, Immortality and time."

Your refusal once made Darcy indignant, and confused,
But me smile, and proud,
I saw your grace, glowing, from your beautiful eyes,
as well as the plain pilgrim‘s face, of Jane Eyre's.

Your morning kisses are so sweet,
Pressing my forehead,
Yet there is something more pressing,
Against my heart--

You are always loved,
As far as Neruda is known,
We all love phenomenal women,
Like Maya Angelou, for sure,
Can we spare some love, I murmured,
For those from far far blow?

Whose courage and beauty
Like Scarlet and Melany's,
Inspired, as well as scared,
So many,
So many men and women, still chained, you we know, to death!

One day I shall ask you, my dear,
Would you wear a chain, but with a gold padlock,
No~, Your expression frightens me,
I prefer a gold medal~
Even with a chain on the other end?
