Advice on preparing IELTS examination
Did you know – to prepare well for the IELTS Exam, especially Speaking, you need to do more than learn English. It’s not just about knowing grammar and words. You need to know about the topics. You need knowledge of subjects like history, geography, art, social issues, politics, people and personality, and so on. You cannot talk about any topic well unless you know something about that topic. A good test is to try to answer the question in Chinese – if you cannot do this, then you have insufficient knowledge about the subject to speak about it in English. You will need to research the topic so that you can say something logical, consistent, and meaningful in response to the questions. Use the internet, and find out about the subject area, form your own ideas and opinions about the questions, then learn the appropriate vocabulary to express your thoughts in English. Then PRACTICE, and PRACTICE, and PRACTICE, and .....Furthermore, don’t just practice until you can get it right, in terms of grammar, pronunciation, and fluency – You need to practice until you CANNOT get it wrong.Good English skills need to be something you can do by habit, and not something you need to remember each time you speak.
Next post, I will talk about grouping topics together into common subject areas, to optimize your research and preparation time. See you later! I do agree. It is a great suggestion! Thank you.
mostly,it is not we do not know how to talk but we have no ideas about topics. This sounds good. looking forward to the next post. Good suggestion. Spoken English is my weakness.
