国内亲戚的孩子如果过来插班读书半年到一年是否可行？

The fee is based on the visa type of the student.
For tourist visa, the stuent can attend the school for up to 12 weeks and the fee is $262.50 per week.
For student visa, the fee is $10500 per year.

As the whole family is on a 1-year visa (whatever the type), the 2 primary schools (she had changed the school after the first 2 months) treated the girl as 'local resident', so (almost) no school fee + free school bus (as the 2nd school is a bit far).
The girl had only attended 10-months school, and flown back to China before the term's ending, to continue her Chinese school at home city. 很想研究下如何带孩子在暑假过去插班读个两个月，就是先预热下，为后来的长登做个预演。
有哪位达人能提供些最近的信息么？
