4) 不同客户有不同的需要,non-technical往往重视的是结果;另外对于non-technical的用户使用too technical的词语,会容易让对方尴尬。

Step 1: Be frank, and admit this is sth that is more complicated than you expected. If possible, identify/suggest a work-around so that the user can still proceed their business as usual before this problem is fixed up.
Step 2: Assure the end user that you/your company will try their best to solve the problem.
Step 3: Most importantly, make a definite commitment that you will follow-up this matter and get back to the user in regards to it's progress.
