On Monday 30 November a DFAT delegation will provide a short briefing on Australia's
participation at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. Austrade Guangzhou will also provide
a short briefing on Australia's role as co-host of the China International SME Fair, 2010.
Both briefings will be held on 6/F of Development Centre, 3 Linjiang Dadao, Zhujiang New
City, commencing at 9:30am.
Interested AustCham members are welcome to attend, however registration is necessary.

A small excerpt regarding the DFAT briefing is attached below.
The Australian Commissioner General for Shanghai World Expo 2010, Ms.Lyndall Sachs,
along with Mr. Adam Coin will provide members with an update on Australia's participation
in Shanghai World Expo 2010, 1 May -31 October.
The briefing will cover the following:
· An introduction to the new Commissioner General, appointed in October 2009, and
her vision for Australia’s participation at the expo
· A general project update, covering on construction, exhibitions, recruitment, operations,
retail, communications and the cultural program
· An overview of the developing plans for the business program, including information on
opportunities for involvement.
Lyndall Sachs, Commissioner General for Australia
Lyndall assumed the position of Commissioner General on 19 October. She was previously
Australia's Ambassador to Lebanon. She joined the Department in 2001, managing the
department's media and parliamentary liaison. Lyndall has worked for the United Nations
in the formerYugoslavia, Rwanda and the former Zaire, Sri Lanka and London, and a major
British charity. She commenced her professional career in the Prime Minister and Cabinet
and worked for 18 months in the Department of Immigration, on refugee and humanitarian
issues. Lyndall is a graduate from the University of Queensland in Asian History and Japanese
language.
Adam Coin, Manager, Business Program
Adam joined the Shanghai World Expo Unit in May 2009. Prior to taking up his current
role, Adam was part of Australia's negotiating teams for the Australia-China and
Australia-Japan Free Trade Agreements, and served in the Australian Embassy Beijing
2005-2007. Adam is a graduate from the University of Melbourne in Economics and
Public Policy and joined DFAT in 2002. He speaks Japanese and Mandarin.
