想了解一下，刚过去的小孩子如何学习英语？

由于我儿子在中国幼儿园里学习使用的是中文，未曾接受过英文的教育，现在想向各位父母请教，孩子过去后上幼儿园听不懂怎么办？如果到了上学的年龄，能直接上小学吗？望各位有经验的父母指点一二。谢谢！！

如果是适龄的上学儿童就可以直接上离家最方便的语言学校，通常是2个学期以后转到正式的小学。

如果还是上child care也不用担心，选个有会讲中文的就OK，而且小孩很快就能适应的，特别在语言方面，你就放心吧。

放心了,我儿子是六岁来的,来了有一年了.现在基本的交流是没有问题,刚去的时候也还好,没什么问题.

个人觉得你担心孩子以后会不会讲中文比较实际
以后孩子所处的大环境都是英语的，而且小孩子对新语言的接受度要比大人高多了

in generally , nanny would ask one kid who speak both english and chinese to play with your little one as translator at childcare centre .

Yes! you are right. You should worry about your kid's Chinese.Don't allow him speaking English at home. Otherwise within one year he will lose Chinese. My daughter came to oz when she was 7.5 years old. Only 3 months she'd been school, she asked me whether she could speak English at home. I said NO. Her English is very good now, she can teach me. At the same time she can speak Chinese very well.But sometimes she has some problems to understand Chinese. So I think you should worry about his Chinese, not English.

just 3 months? how can! Could you tell me how about your girl's english level before she came to Australia.
My daughter just came here, i'm worried about her english. Could you tell me how to teach her at home? She's 6 years old.

She nearly didn't remeber any English, before she came to OZ. When she came OZ , she was in year 2, she straight stayed with local students, didn't go to language school. But she likes reading. Within one year she had read more 300 books, from very simple books to more 200 pages fairy story( not many picture). she finished year 2 and 3 within one year(last year). This year, she's in year 4. She had read Harry Potter I,II,III,VI and V(original edition). I let her to stop for a while and let her read some Chinese books before read VI and VII.Next year, she will be in year 5, but she's just 9 years old.

I still think Chinese is a big problem for those very young kids who come to English country. She already has some Chinese problems. Sometimes she couldn't understand Chinese properly. So let your kid learn Chinese as much as possible before coming to OZ.

Maybe your daughter is very smart. I think it's depend on individual. I also saw some of my friends children whose English didn't improve so much even though they come here not very short time. A boy of my daughter's classmate came here over 3 month, but he still can't speak and still have problem of understanding(he is 6 years old); and my friend's daughter came here over 1 year (when she was 3.5),and everyday she goes to childcare, but now she only speak very few english (but she said to me she can understand a lot, but can't speak).
Therefore, I also a little bit worry about my daughter's english.

孩子还小，家长先不要着急，我们论坛上一个朋友的女儿也是三岁多过来，去CHILD CARE才几个月就敢用英文和其他小朋友吵嘴，呵呵。虽然语法不是太对，但基本意思都表达出来了。她的家长平时会去图书馆借些幼儿的有声电子读物给她学习，我看过一次，感觉挺有趣的，孩子也很喜欢，没事就放来看。现在孩子妈妈说，有些单词她还要请教她女儿呢，呵呵。另外如果家长在家里和孩子对话时用些英文单词能不能也有一定的效果呢？不过就怕这样一来，孩子以后中文忘得更快了，

是啊，最重要的是孩子开心，他们那么小，在这里一直生活下去，英文肯定不会是问题。

猜测一下，有可能是你不知道他到底会多少，你可以跟幼儿园的老师交流一下，问问看孩子在托儿所到底会不会说英语。

在俺们家里从来不说英文的，一直是讲中文的（偶尔有些外语单词），所以我也一直不知道孩子在托儿所到底学了多少，问了老师，告诉我能讲很多，但有时候也要靠猜或者看别的小朋友怎么做，自己跟着模仿。

后来，我不限制他在家说英语单词了，我才慢慢发现他在托儿所学的英语不是一个单词一个单词的，而是句子，或者短语，发音语调完全都是从老师同学那里批发过来的，所以搞得我经常听不懂他在说啥。当然，我的英语也实在是比较差劲哈~

同意你最后一句话，开心最重要，英语肯定没问题的~~

刚开始，老师还让我们不用担心，不必在家教英文，所以我也懒得管他，任其自由发展。现在老师会跟我说，在家时，用双语教他。

其实以后的趋势，英语在任何国家，地区，基本上人人都会讲那么几句，有些在国内读大学的同学，英语也一样很溜了，但是，千万不要忘了中文，毕竟身为炎黄子孙，不会讲中文和写中文，是比较尴尬的一件事情，所以，我想让孩子在国内把中文基础打好，再到澳洲来。

Yes! She is! She just got PEAC OFFER.She is the only one who get the offer in her school this year. This program cater for th top 2.5% in WA. However I still think that Albert Einstein was right. He summed :"Genius is 1%inspiration and 99% perspiration."
