It will depend on which state you are going to reside.  The policy for New South Wales is available from this website: http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licens ... tional_drivers.html
If you arrive on a permanent resident visa, your overseas licences will not be accepted after three months. Otherwise, you could drive carrying a translated Chinese driver licence ( this policy applied three years ago before we become permanent resident, you may wish to confirm with RTA and see what is the current policy. I reckon same policy stays.) The notarized copy from China is not accepted. The licence has to be translated by NSW Community Relations Commission which can be done after you arrive in Australia (http://www.crc.nsw.gov.au/services/language_services ;  fees apply).

国内的翻译件不行的，

如果是开车的话 国内的翻译公证是可以的 但不能用来换照。你是495 不必换照  可以一直用下去 除非你换成PR签证

这位朋友，你在国内的公证件在澳洲是不被认可的，比如到VICROAD换照，或者开车时被警察要求出示驾驶执照的时候，你一定要找澳洲认可的三级翻译帮你翻译一个临时驾照，并连同中国的驾照一并使用才可以，否则如果真的遇到交通违规的时候，麻烦可就大了，经验之谈！
