Dear Sir/Madam:
I would like to be considered for the Senior Java Developer position that you are seeking to fill. As you can see from my resume, I am qualified for the position, and I think that I might fit in well with your company.
I hold an Australian Permanent Resident Visa, and I will move to Australia as soon as I get an ideal job offer offshore, or in September this year at last.
I am proficient in many programming languages, including Java, C/C++, C#, Delphi, Python, and lua, and have a lot of experience in developing on Windows, Unix, and Linux platforms. I have sound knowledge of both front and back ends technologies like SQL, HTML, XML, CSS, JQuery, AJAX, JavaScript, Spring, Hibernate, and JSP. In terms of databases, I have experience with Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, Sybase, and Sqlite, and have done a number of projects in database design, analysis, massive data processing, performance optimization, and problem solving. I have participated in many projects using Java as the programming language and once independently developed a JavaScript engine on J2ME environment to make Widget platform run on non-smart phones at that time. Over the years, I also have gained experience with different development methodologies from the long and complicated integrated product development (IPD) process to the more flexible ones like agile development.
My technical skills and problem-solving capabilities have been highly recognized by my team members and directors and I am often the first person people turn to when they have any technical problems. My love for computer science and software development drives me in pursuing my career as an engineer to deliver stable and user-friendly systems for customers. I am always interested in learning new languages and frameworks and keeping my knowledge up-to-date. And my pleasant and formidable character allows me to work both independently and in a team.
I studied computer science in Henan University of Science and Technology and graduated in 2000 with excellent academic achievements. After graduation, I joined China’s largest telecommunications vendor at that time and worked as a programmer. During my three years there, I participated in the development of several carrier billing software and hospital information systems, and independently designed and developed multiple Interactive Voice Response (IVR) software. For my outstanding work performance, I was awarded “excellent employee” several times during those three years.
In 2004, I joined ZTE Corporation in Nanjing as a software engineer, where I did requirements analysis, system design, and maintenance for billing and operations support systems. In late 2005, Huawei Technologies’ R&D Center in Nanjing invited me to join them to work on mobile terminal and Internet projects. The position was attractive and I joined Huawei in December 2005.
For the past 9 years, I have done a number of projects, from software development to database design, which has allowed me to gain a lot of experience and develop into an expert and key employee of the company. I also developed a development supporting tool that can count and record the workload of each developer and allow people to extract codes by developer for review, which dramatically improves internal management efficiency. My expertise and deep understanding of computers and software enable me to work with high efficiency and I can always adapt to new positions very quickly.
