五、管理选择自由的局限

做领导意味着拥有了权利,同时也意味着责任、失去自由。(代价)
局限了自由选择的有:
需求 Demands
约束 Constraints
需求可能来自于demands that managers face:
1. 上司 your boss is likely expect things of you that you will be unable to ignore.
2. 你自己 yourself want the project to be a success.
3. 员工 your staff members will want and expect you to spend time with them, giving advice or training
4. 同仁 peer: other managers within the organization will often require information, support or assistance from you
5. 组织 your organization will have its own set of systems that cannnot be ignored, including budgets, reports and mettings.
6. 客户、供应商等 your customers, suppliers, or other stakeholders may require information or action from you.
来自组织内外的约束Constraints come from both inside and outside of the organization , and limit what can be done.
1. 人们的期望 expectations
This is about what people expect as a result of the action being taken, and how they are likely to respond to it, It also includes the general attitude that employees have towards you as their manager, or the work that has to be done.
2. 有限的资源 all resources are limited in some way, and as a manager, you will have to work with , and make the best use of ,the type and amount of resources that are available to you
3. 法律规定 legislation: legal regulations are a constraint on everyone. As a manager, you have a responsibility not only to act within the law, but to ensure that your team does, too.
4. 技术 technology: you will be constrained by the processes and equipment available to you. This applies equally to the quality and to the type of resources available.
5. 地理方位 location: you may be working with a number of teams. some of which may not
6.工作流程和办公室政治 politics and procedures
有以下的例子:
1. 预算不够 small budget that has been allocated
2. 本年不招聘新员工的规定 company’s policy not to recruit any more new employees this year
3. 技术跟不上 the technology that has not been able to support the desired enhancements
