To be honest, what is the real problem of the industry? too many people and not enough jobs.
If everyone in the industry is very interested in technology and works as hard as he can, is that a good thing? Not at all, because everyone will be exhausted soon.
If you create a system, no issues, no bugs, easy to maintain and extend. The system is so amazing that it runs for 10 years and clients are still 100% satisfied. is that a good thing? not at all. if every team does that, then the industry is doomed.
So relax and learn to bullshit, that is the way to win win. I am not saying we should do rubbish work intentionally, just no need to take the coding job too seriously. If learning new tricks makes your happy, then do it, but don't be too proud. a lot of people can do that too.
For example, if you working in a team and found your colleagues always write crap code, you should be grateful. And don't be so eager to show off, that is just annoying. talk more and do less, work as a team FTW
