Family Service just like Church Service. Most time sing the hymn. The elder will interpret the Bible. I hardly remember what they was preaching. Mainly praise, not like our Church pastor, he will prepare the Sunday service all week. First, get the Greek bible and try to get the meaning as he can. Then write down the draft, modify and improve in the rest days. Totally professional, it's a job. That's why Christianity so strong.
The elder in Family Service is more like teaching traditional Chinese virtue under Bible's context. I think they may already feel frustrated after culture revolution. All traditional virtue is broken and it is a high risk to continue teach that virtue. May be a little safer or convicted to teach and believe something else, out side our own country. I am not sure. Even in Australia, the elder Chinese Christian is different to their second generation, native speaker. |
