The past week is a busy week for me, also a big change for my family.
We finally arrived in Melbourne.

Although it's just kind of normal life for every new migrant to Australia, I plan to record those little things happened to me everyday. Anyway, it's a start of a new life for my family.

提示: 作者被禁止或删除, 无法发言 This morning, I attened the learner permit test. Since I booked the test right after my arrival, I had to put all my efforts in preparing for it. I passed the test with a score of 97%. Acturally I haven't looked into the PDFs at all. I just took the practice tests several times(say, 10 times). There are only 2 question I never met before, and that's why it is not 100%.

It is more convenient for Chinese people to live there, more Chinese restraunts, better educations, language schools. I went to Glen Waverley yesterday and found Chinese is kind of official language there.

But the choice is not for me, I'm living in west melbourne, at least for now. I'll take some days to feel the real life in west melbourne and made my own decision.

I borrowed 8 books for my son, 4 dvds for myself. Time to study...

提示: 作者被禁止或删除, 无法发言 For new migrants, a bank account statement with your current address is important. I got one from CBA yesterday and used it twice today, for the learner permit test and application for library card.
Of course, if you have rent agreement, it will be fine. But I don't have one now, so the only way to prove my address is bank account statement.

and the result is a surprise to me.
After the test, I booked driving test in January(The earliest time from now).
Now I understand the policy for Overseas license. You don't need wait 3 monthes for the driving test.

We took the VlLine to Geelong and it takes shorter time to Geelong than to Mel city.

Also, it is much cheaper.(Day return tickets for 2 adults and 1 child, only $13.2)

People always said without a car life in australia is difficult. But I feel it OK to take public transport. You need plan the trip more carefully to save your time in waiting for the bus/train.

Acturally, I like the Low Carbon lifestyle.

Today I received the driver license translation docs from AMES. It's a surprise to me since my expectation is I can only get it after the new year's day.
AMES staff told me it may take 2 monthes for the translation of driver licenses and Immunization record. Acturally, it takes only 3 working days for me to get the translated docs. I like AMES.

Today we went to wantirna south, although our plan is disrupted by the heavy rain, I would say it is no regret to take this trip.

We take a 1-hour tour in Waverley Christian College, that's a pleasant trip since we can feel how happy the students here are. Obviously, testing score is not the focus here, at least it is not the only focus. It is not important what the students would do after graduation, god creates all kinds of people, the school just help the young people find out what they are good at.

It is said that there will be storm later in Melbourne. Since we don't have car and have to rely on public transport, we decided to come back home early. Pastor Luo of citylife church sent us home using his car. It is not uncommon to get help from people who never know before in your life here, that makes difference in everyone's life.

i am also thinking about buying a house in western mel,POINT COOK looks like a good choice but its too barren,i can't imagine living in a house without trees around it.
It will never be easy to make a choice. i chose to live here then i will have to accept the truth that even in a country like oz i still cannot afford the so-called good house.

It takes 10 years to grow trees. You may consider some older houses, not the new developments. Point Cook certainly should not be your choice, it's more suitable for investment.

woolie的大葱不是很多的嘛。

话说boxhill现在下面的停车先进了许多，至少我每次去不用绕死找车位了。

Of course not. I just go to car city to have a look there. So many used cars, I feel tired after half an hour, so made a quick decision and went back to sleep.

Then I called blackburn language school to make an appointment and then went there for enrolment. The new term will began from Feb 2011.
Nothing special, I believe that's the normal procedure for every chinese family who just come here.

I can not make sure that if it is in good condition, and that's why I bought the car from the dealer. I hope if there is some problem, the warranty could help me out.

Buying a car, esp. a second-hand one, your journey starts from your local library and online.

It's because I didn't installed a booster seat for my son.

I've installed one now.
Although I don't care much about the result of internal review, I feel I must try it first before I pay the penalty.

More serious an offense than I thought - endangering other people's life(including your own son's) is no laughing matter...

I reckon that's my fault. Actually I think the Solo driver book should state more clearly about that. I checked the book and found the description is really not so clear. Anyway, I have installed the boost seat already.

Just passed the driving test. Thanks to everyone.

Lots of people have helped us a lot since we came here, they helped me learned a lot. It is not only about the driving skills, it's about the way people help each other. I began to realize there is something that is most important to life, and I don't know it before.

Got my first infringement notice in Australia, 小小纪念一下 . I've wrote a letter to apply for an internal review, will have to pay the penalty if it does not work.

I got a reply letter from the police. It says "This infrigement notice has been withdrawn to be re-assessed". So now what I need do is waiting for further notice from them.

I'm still not quite sure what I can do there, maybe help deliver food to the aged people nearby, or help transfer them to health center...
