标题: 该急着登陆吗?
大家讨论一下,现在OZ的经济似乎还是很不明朗,那些准签,榆钱,包括那些分CO的人们该不该准备急着长登或短登?

I remember during one meeting, we, the whole team, was told by the manager, you still got a job at the moment, you have to consider yourself lucky already! And from the news we know that the economy, job market in Australia even turns more gloomy during this worldwide recession, still difficult to see the bottom out yet!

At this critical time, should those ppl planning of relocating to OZ should go ahead - resign/quit the current job or just keep and wait?

So happy to hear the comments from all of u guys, esp those work in OZ already.

for guys, i would say go ahead and do everything you wanna do in OZ especailly at this poor economic situation and condition since the guy said that 乱世出英雄. Once you realized money is bull shit but the cozy and quiet life is significant, you will feel OZ  is your right choice!

for myself, i prefer to get my visa and relocate to OZ as soon as possible becasuse i need free and no more god damn boring persons

But it is really HARD to carry the very first step! it needs a great courage esp those who have got a so called "family" already, m i rite?

it is not cheap to learn driving in SG. it cost me about 2.1k to get a license here from CDC(Comfort Driving Center).
if u r lucky, u get urself passed easily for the 1st time, otherwise, it burns up ur cash like speeding! I dun understand why SG so ridiculous to set a circuit test here? a lot of my colleagues told me they got their license at ease from UK, Malaysia, New Zealand, even US without any circuit driving!

English, shouldn't be an issue for u in SG, rite?

my wife has a similar situation as u, dat's y she keeps pushing me to OZ. Actually for myself, my job duty, payment, job prospect still quite ok for me especially at this downturn time.

wat's more, it costs a lot to settle down a new home in OZ, at the same time, u have 2 give up all the stuff u have, dun talk about the house first, just those furniture will burn out a big hole in ur pocket already, such as LCD TV, fridge, washing machine, sofa, books, car... it really needs some courage to move out the first step!

I wonder what occupation you have been pursuing. Firmware engineer? As subsequent someone said, I guess your occupation will be in demand if that belongs to a  relative unusual sort, after all, you will be faced with fewer competitors. Of course, there is disadvantage for uncommon career sorts, under the circumstance, opportunity will be more important. My suggestion is that you would not pay attention to the present local economy. You should set off without hesitation and delay if you are granted. Don't you imagine such a possibility? for example, you stay inland to await an uncertain Australian economical recovery, whereas, others are seeking job offers in Australia, and then, when you compose your thoughts to order your airline ticket, others may be far ahead of you and get job offers! So, never be hesitant whether be inland or going abroad. On the other hand, you would pay for lower expense including rent, traffic and food if you land Australia under such depressed economical circumstance, on the contrary, there is no doubt that flourishing markets will bring about higher living cost,in particular if you do not own a normal job,in that case, don't you regard flourishing economy as living stress? As you know, immigrants do not have social welfare during the first two years.

Once getting visa, you will be involved a fresh life, whether booming future or depressed situation, it would not impede a definite goal.

Anyway, firmware engineer... It sounds nice hopeful career, make up your mind asap.

yep, get so much encouragement from ur words! It is true that all those daily expense and other consumption at a lower cost at this critical stage. yeah, i got less competitors within those low-level language programming and hardware troubleshooting. (of cos in a lower job chances as well) and that is the precise reason why i can even gained a position in a MNC at my current company (i got my new job at the very beginning of the recession).

Thanks for ur words once again!

For engineer, OZ got different market demands now, but IT biz is very quite now globally.

You can check Careerone.com.au for more reference, upload your resume on it for further concern.

Good luck, all.

Heihei... haven't got the time to update my resume.

but i m wondering that even i send out resume now, will they bother to look at my application without a proper local address and contact No?

"Swagging" in FreeOZ during office hour is still "okey", but updating personal resume is really awkward if spot by colleagues or manager.

No, when you registed it, you will get its updating mail to inform you what new job list they have.

At least, you can have first hand information about how many companies are recuirting your position.
