English Conversation Practice

* 7.30pm sharp (Please be punctual!) on Thursdays as listed below.
* Important: Some knowledge of English is essential, this class is just to practice your conversational English.
* The purpose of our group is to help those who have a basic knowledge of the language to improve their spoken English. It is also our hope that through the group, we will make newcomers to our country feel welcome.
* Topics for conversation include a variety of subjects of general interest related to our Australian culture, places of interest and everyday living.
* Cost there is no charge for attendance. The group is staffed by volunteers from our churches and led by a retired school teacher.
Term Dates for 2009
Term 1: Thursdays 7.30pm Feb 12th - April 2nd (8 Sessions).
Term 2: Thursdays 7.30pm May 7th - June 25th (8 Sessions).
Term 3: Thursdays 7.30pm July 30th - September 17th (8 Sessions).
Term 4: Thursdays 7.30pm October 22nd - December 10th (8 Sessions).

17号晚上我也去了，在BURWOOD的UNITING 教堂的院子里的一个教室里上的课。那晚是本年第二学期的最后一次课。大概有20多人，主持人是个老太太，名叫BEB，还有一些HELPER多是本地人，他们都很NICE的，会主动跟学生交谈。
第一轮：大家都轮流介绍自己。
第二轮：几个人一个小组，坐成一小圈，每一小圈里都有HELPER，学生会拿到一张卡片，上面有一个表格，要求填写 C、B、P字母开头的vegetable/country/fruit的单词，如果不会也没关系，HELPER会提示学生。
第三轮：学生拿到第二张卡片，上面有些问题提示，比如：was born in Indonesia这样的提示，学生到每个HELPER那里去问卡片上的问题，目的是让学生熟悉has you/have you/are you/do you 等提问句，然后把答案填在卡片上。
第四轮：BEB从一个袋子里连续拿了20个不同的物品出来，并告诉大家这是什么，然后每一小组的人要把这20个物品的名称写出来。
四轮完了之后大家可以随便交流，喝点饮料，吃点点心之类的，想练口语的筒子这个时候就可以上了 。

今天下课的时候和一个韩国同学聊天，也说到教堂里英语课，既然看到这个帖子，我就提供一下我这个区域周围的教堂英语课信息：
HORNSBY地区。一个是在TAFE旁边的教堂，每周四上午进行
另一个教堂是在STATION的另一侧，就是在COLES旁边不远的地方，每周一上午进行
