OLYMPICgold medallist and gay icon Matthew Mitcham has finally secured thecorporate sponsorship deal that has eluded him since the Olympics.
Whileit's not in Stephanie Rice territory, Mitcham's year-long contract withTelstra is a "relief" for the diver who has struggled to attractinterest from the corporate world despite his perfect-10 dive inBeijing.

He blames the current economic crisis rather than hissexuality for the sponsorship drought but is grateful Telstra hasbacked him.
"I was a little bit worried... so hopefully this will be a snowball effect, but I don't want to count my chickens," he said.
"If I can get the opportunity where I would be able to train withouthaving to worry about paying the bills, that would be the ultimategoal."
While refusing to reveal the dollar amount of the deal, Mitcham saidit would be a "significant" help - without which he would find itdifficult to continue the 11-session a week training schedule neededfor the 2012 London Games.
Mitcham will represent Telstra at events and product launches, withthe company describing him as a "positive role model for allAustralians".

what a well-known gay...nowadays,does he earn money by breeding chickens?

it is difficult to believe he is short of dollars for his training,taking a glance at his perfect muscle and figure,he has every reason to be a marvelous fashion model in leisure time,in that case,i suppose his swimming trunks will be crammed with dollars.of course,i hope he should not be the second Michael Phelps...
