AtGoogle, we're constantly working to innovate and improve our productsso people can easily find and manage information. At times though, wehave to decide where to focus our efforts and which technologies weexpect will yield the most benefit to users in the long run.

Startingnext week, we plan to stop active development on Google Notebook. Thismeans we'll no longer be adding features or offer Notebook for newusers. But don't fret, we'll continue to maintain service for those ofyou who've already signed up. As part of this plan, however, we will nolonger support the Notebook Extension, but as always users who havealready signed up will continue to have access to their data via theweb interface at http://www.google.com/notebook.

Ifyou haven't used Notebook in the past, we invite you to explore theother Google products that offer Notebook-like functionality. Here area few examples, all of which are being actively improved and shouldmeet your needs:

SearchWiki- We recently launched a feature on Search that will let you re-rank,comment, and personalize your search results. This is useful whenyou've found some results on Google Search that were really perfect foryour query. You can read about how to use SearchWiki in this blog post.

Google Docs - If you're trying to jot down some quick notes, or create a document that you can share with others, check out Google Docs.

Tasks in Gmail - For a lightweight way to generate a todo list or keep track of things, we recently launched Tasks in Gmail Labs.

Google Bookmarks - For a tool that can help you remember web pages that you liked and access them easily, take a look at Google Bookmarks. You can even add labels to your bookmarks to better organize and revisit them.

Whileit's hard for us to make this announcement we believe it's the rightdecision for our users in the long run. And we're excited about all thenew ideas we have for Docs, SearchWiki, Bookmarks and other products.

提示: 作者被禁止或删除, 无法发言 在全球经济持续寒冬的背景下，就连Google的日子也是越来越难过，不得不考虑精兵简政，多项表现不佳的服务都将被逐渐放弃。

首先是视频服务Google Video，今后几个月内就会不再接受上传，不过Google并不会彻底关闭该服务，各种相关内容和其他都会继续保留，现有的视频也可以继续查看、搜索。当然了，我们有更强大、更流行的YouTube，Google Video退隐江湖只是个时间问题，可惜的是Google不会发负责把你的视频转移到YouTube上。

其次是目录搜索服务Google Catalog Search。事实上，Google早就停止了对该服务的技术开发。

还有就是记事本服务Google Notebook，因为使用Google Docs、Google Bookmarks等完全可以取代它。

除此之外，2005年收购的移动社交网站Dodgeball和微型博客服务Jaiku也都没什么人气，难以为继。

Google放弃多项服务不再接受视频上传

不会吧？这个功能很不错的啊，主要是用来保存网页剪辑用的，我一直在用啊。只不过感觉功能上还可以在增强一些。
反倒是google下面推荐的那三个替代服务虽然功能明确，可是我不常用。

Google怎么想的啊。

貌似 Evernote 的功能更加强大，我也申请了帐号，还没怎么用呢。
主要是习惯了google，也信任google，用google的服务心里有底。
希望google能尽快收购evernot，如果evernot真的好的话。

是非常强大，建议多使用，体会一下。

iphone的app更是一绝，我经常就是用snapshot把receipt拍下来，直接上传到evernote备份。还有常用的就是voice note。

你用IPHONE啊？介绍一下经验啊，我也打算买一个IPHONE，据说新移民没有工作合同不好签约的，我本来想去了就签一个2年的OPTUS的IHPONE合同呢。
你有没有用过其他的智能手机，介绍一下IPHONE和其他智能手机的比较感受啊。开一个新帖吧。

我是去年出差到上海买的。建议你也在国内买个破解版来的实际，你不嫌弃的话，二手的第一代iphone会是很好的选择。便宜，量足。不过到澳洲没法用3g网络会是个遗憾。

我用过的智能手机/系统
mio 8390 WM 2003，WM给我留下了这个垃圾印象，直到现在还在我脑海中回荡。错过无数重要电话，只因死机。不管现在WM 6.1 6.5多牛，绝对不会再考虑用Windows。

Treo 650，Palm OS 5。好鸡，电池和全键盘太爽了。用了3年多，给老婆当字典用了。电池还是很牛！就是系统有些过时了，其实从palm IIIXe的3.x到5.x没啥改进。palm自己也不够争气，无语中。不过新的pre和web os还行。

接下来就是iPhone了，Mac OS X，darwin内核，正统BSD的系统。稳定，可以jailbreak后当BSD玩，弄个blog都没问题。反正玩法很多。看你喜欢了，价格有些虚高。我买的是港版，主要是不想搞破解，怕麻烦。就多掏了几个钱。

你也可以考虑Nokia E71，性价比非常高。是Nokia中让我另眼相看的一个机器，Symbian有所改进。

notebook很久没有用了，感觉不方便
