Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description:
A junior / mid level firmware engineer with 3+ years experience is required to join a team of dedicated developers in a challenging role within a growing R&D center in inner-Sydney. The team is expanding to accommodate new products and product variations, and are in need of a firmware engineer to help with development, maintenance and testing of the embedded products.
The company's products are all based around Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) wireless communications and operate on 8051-based SoC devices. The successful candidate will have be knowledgeable of wireless communications protocols and their implementation details on embedded devices. To be suitable for this role, you will need to have hands-on experience with embedded systems development that includes system architecture design, extensive RTOS integration, and low-level device & peripheral driver implementation primarily using the C language. Familiarity with assembly language(s), The successful candidate will be familiar with embedded hardware systems and capable of interpreting hardware schematics for the purposes of software design & testing. Good documentation skills and impeccable written & verbal communication skills are considered essential.
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the successful candidate will be to design & develop firmware for a new product functionality, in addition to supporting maintenance & testing of existing firmware. You will work with firmware and hardware engineer/s towards timely completion of assigned project tasks.
