As I mentioned before, i booked a virginblue ticket to Brisbane. the plane took off at 7 am as scheduled and arrived in Brisbane at 7:30(note: its brisbane time, and there is one hour gap between sydney and brisbane, so the actual flight time is 1hour and 21min). After I checked out at the airport, I got on a train to the city(10$ a person for one way). I got off at Central station where I met a friend studying in University of Queensland. She accompanied me to travelled around the city area and drank a cup of coffee in Starbucks.( Note: Starbucks is not very welcomed in AU, she told me that Michel's is more faverable). And we had lunch at "subway"(note: subway is a brand name of quick food service, just like McDounld, you can spend around $4 for a lunch there). In the afternoon, I visited the University of Queensland and took some information about admission in the student's center. (Note: u could take bus 407 or 412 to UQ). At around 2 pm, I returned to Centre Station and got on a train to my most important destination--- the surfer's paradise(in gold coach). I paid 13$ for the traffic fee. first u should take the train to Nerang(1 hour) then exchanged a bus to the surfer's paradise. The bus will stop at the Bus Transit Center at Beach Road which is a stone away from the beach. its really nice that day and i have never seen so strong waves, which is indeed a paradise for professional surfers. the wind is very very strong along the beach, and the sun is much scorching than that in Sydney. Note: dont forget booking ur return ticket to Sydney. the booking center is inside the Bus Transit center. I booked a bus ticket(Mccartney's) to Sydney. (price: 90$ if u dont have any concession, set off at 6pm tommorrow). Then I ruched out to find a hotel. And according to the guidence of the book "travel around the world--AU, I found a self-contained apartment(80$/one night, two beds). of course its more expensive than that of Youth Hotel, but I really dont want live in a dirty place like Youth Hotel. This night, I went out to visit the shoping center where I found lots Japanese food shops or duty-free shops. By the way, never forget drinking the "XXXX" bear which is locally made in Queensland. ($2.2 a bottle). the next day I checked out at 10am and found a locker to store my luggage.( note the locker is also in Bus Transit Center,$6 for 24 hours)
Then i went to the beach, walking along it, enjoying the sunshine and beach. What a wonderful Day!!! But unfortunately i coulnt swim that day, because the authority forbid swimming due to too strong waves. there are lots of bars along the shore and around the Paradise Center. In the afternoon, I sat outside a coffee bar and ordered a ice-coffee, reading the "Sydney Morning Herald" about current international events, thinking of my future, enjoying the wet wind. Ah, what a wonderful afternoon!!! At 5:30pm I checked in and got on the bus at 6pm. Note, during the night, its really cold inside the bus for the air condition is automatically controlled, so wear more cloths. I am freezing to death that night. The bus arrived in Sydney around 11 am.
fortunately, the train system is free to all people and for all routes. (maybe it is to compensate the traffic turmoils occured last week). Who knows, anyway its free. For a one-day traveller, its indeed a good chance he cant miss. For me it saves me $4.
