标题: How to make a bid?
I never make a bid for a task before.
So I thought that I better to ask you.

Someone does not have source code of a c++ dll he asked someone else develop for him and he lost contact with the developer and want to modify a byte in the dll. He is willing to pay NZ$50 donation. I want to make a bid and I want to get more money from that task. I only face this task in my whole career once. I don't think that I will get this kind of task quite often. How much should I ask for the job? I am thinking to develop code for ios and needs a ipad. These ipads are quite dear. Should I ask for NZ$1,000 for the job to modify a byte in the dll?

？？？？看不懂。

你的逻辑很奇怪。你的出价应该只和这个任务的价值相关吧？你想买个新的iPad也能作为定价理由？

另外，我觉得这个需求很可疑。没有源代码，怎么证明他对这个软件拥有知识产权？仅仅是他自己的claim？逆向他人的代码并且从中牟利明显是非法的。

I was hoping that fix only cost me 10 minutes and I don't know how to charge him.
He was offering me $100 for my work.

Anyway the deal is off.
He emailed me the dll and I have a look and what he want does not exist in the dll. I cannot do anything on that.

The most important thing is that I don't know how much this task is worth to the employer. I also don't know how much he paid to the other contractor to program that c++ dll.

如果不太麻烦,可以加个勾子,补点代码实现他需要的功能.当然价钱可以进一步协商.看你的工作量.
逆向编译需要很高的技巧.破译后不一定是照抄代码,借鉴想法也很好.国内比较出名的网站是:www.pediy.com (看雪论坛)

I can write a c++ dll from scratch, no problem. But he only want to modify a binary dll and pay NZ$100 and he think to do binary hack only takes 20 minutes job. I agree that binary hack only takes around 5 minutes. :-)
