标题: 求助，Telstra装电话，装了一半没消息了？
刚来澳洲不久租了仓库，选择了Telstra来装电话，原来仓库遗留下来了以前Telstra的线路，

上周二Telstra来了位员工捣鼓了半天，在一个集线盒上挂了两张卡片，卡片上写了电话号码，并注明OK，然后他走了，
可我电话插进插孔毫无接通反应啊，

求助啊，这是怎么回事，是不是Telstra还没有完工？

Why won't Telstra jumper my MDF?

ISP's house their equipment (DSLAM's) inside Telstra telephone exchanges, and then lease the existing copper telephone lines from Telstra that connect to customer premises. Telstra must then send one of their own technicians out to connect the line from the ISP's DSLAM to what is known as the "Network Boundary Point".

The Network Boundary Point is a legal definition which specifies the demarcation point between the ISP and the customer. For premises fitted with MDF's or Network Termination Devices (NTD's), the network boundary is there, if there is no MDF or NTD, the network boundary is usually the first socket conected on the lead-in.

Premises where lots of people live such as units, townhouses and villas are usually connected to the Telstra network by one large cable with multiple lines which terminates on an MDF. Then, smaller cables go out from the MDF to each unit. The incoming lines need to be "jumpered" or connected to the correct outgoing line to get the service to the correct unit.

By law, if there is an MDF present, this is the network boundary. Telstra will only connect the service up to the network boundary point of their customer, which is the ISP, not you.

The ISP does not have to provide a jumpering service either, although some do.

是的，telstra已经完成了他的工作，通常情况下，帮你接上是举手之劳。
尼玛你是不是长的很不handy啊，人都没吊你啊

或是为人很不nice啊，尼玛这是澳洲，别把工人不当人看啊，后果很严重滴

mdf 2 parts，从照片来看，lower part telstra已经完成了局端。
你看看可以找你的service provider来帮忙接客户端，如果他们不接，自己找cabler jumper，就是找到你的内线，然后跳线就行了。

我很怀疑的是，你有两条电话线到你的办公室吗？
通常都是一条线到室内，那么怎么连到两条局端线上呢？
抑或是再拉条线到你的办公室？

TPG MDF Connections – MDF to Unit – MDF Jumpering

   At the time of writing, TPG has a lower fixed-line ADSL installation charge compared to other ISPs. In doing this, they’re helping customers save a lot of money… at the same time, other customers are left with half the job done.

   Other ISPs charge around $250 to get their customers installed, which is made up of a Telstra installation fee (because Telstra own the network, they must get their side of the connection working) and a private technician fee (which is usually a contractor, who does the MDF jumper, if required).

   TPG however lowers their installation charge by only covering the original Telstra fee. This is great news if you live in a house or townhouse that is connected directly to the Telstra network (which is usually the case). Technician installing an MDF jumperBut if you live in a block of units that has an MDF, you will need to pay another technician to complete the job and install an MDF jumper to connect the socket in your unit to the TPG service that Telstra has provisioned at the MDF.

   Enter Cabled Up. If you live in the Sydney metro area, they can install the MDF jumper for the cost of a standard service call (check out their prices here). In other parts of the country, check out the Whirlpool Forum’s Registered Cabler page and contact registered cablers in your state for a quote.

   The MDF Jumper should take about 15 to 20 minutes to install, and you’ll need to be home for the technician to check the service is working at your socket. Its always a good idea to check with your building manager, caretaker, or strata manager if you need a special key to access the MDF. Cabled Up technicians have special ABLOY keys, many technicians do not, so if your building requires ABLOY key access, make sure you ask the technician if they carry it when you get a quote.

我态度很好的，都是工人阶级没有等级歧视的，只是那个员工英文说的太像脱口秀，一句没听懂。。。

找了电工重新布线了，是个小工程呢，

这么快就搞定了，我还等着你提问呢哈
其实我后来想了下，你其实不用另外拉条线的，可以省下不少银子呢
你已经有了一条电话线到室内，通常在mdf那，只接蓝白，另两条线是不接的，其实这不接的两条线可以作为你的传真，要电工把它接上就可以了
因为普通的电话线是2 pair，2 pair就能接2 line。
在不做任何改动的条件下，实现了最优化。
