Snow has fallen across parts of the state overnight.
Ballarat's The Courier website reported light dustings of snow overnight in areas across the region including Mount Buninyong, Warrenheip, Daylesford and Spargo Creek.
Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Ward Rooney said the bureau was aware of reports of snow in the Ballarat, Trentham and Mount Macedon areas.
"It's certainly a very cold, south-westerly stream coming up over those areas, so it is entirely reasonable that there would be snow being experienced at those places," Mr Rooney said.
The bureau forecast for today is cloudy with showers, moderate to fresh north-westerly winds tending south-westerlyduring the afternoon and a maximum temperature of 13 degrees in the city. finally winter shows up...
