求助英语问题，如下

今天去图书馆借书，看到一则广告，如下：
Lots of adults can not read and write as well as they'd like to,but it's never too late to learn.
It's easyier than you think.Call us on 1300655506
这里as well as是何意思，请问各位大侠。谢谢！

不过这个句子中取其本意
任何语种都是复杂且用法灵活，所以魅力无穷 :lol :lol
最近迷上了法语，对语言感受都是相同的

一般情况下是不一样的。
as well单独出现在结尾，就是"也"的意思. I am going there as well.
as well as就是版主说的"像。。。一样好"，这里well就是当成well done, do it well那样的意思。
不过好像是有看到as well as被当成介词，用来表现"也"。一时想不起来哪些情景下可以用。:L

:good :good :good 是呢，通常语法上讲，比较要有两个主体进行对比
不过也有很多例外的，比如
Children should begin learning a foreign language as soon as they start school.
I'd like to write and read in Franch as soon as I can :lol

多问几个英语母语者看看呢？结果请来告知一下， 很想知道人们的不同看法 :lol :lol

念书念太死了吧！中国英语就喜欢搞什么固定用法，纯粹误导。这里的well是修饰read 和write的，和as well as本身没关系。整句就 lots of adults cant read and write as well as they would like to (read and write).

换个副词不就很好理解？

lots of chinese cant speak english as fluently as they would like to.

念书不要念的死脑筋…

再随便举个例子，中国老师爱教be used to doing 习惯干啥，说to 是介词，后面跟(动)名词，有人就念傻了。

bricks are used to build houses.

use 在上面不过是用成被动语态罢了，和固定用法没啥关系。

语义一定要放在上下文里理解。不管是什么语言（中文更多），同一个词组在不同环境下解释可以完全不一样，死记硬背是行不通的。

as well as 有二义啊，
如果你说 I do as well you 这一个句子，就是 as .. as ..结构
可是楼主提的句子 Lots of adults can not read and write 一个完整句子 as well as 一个完整的句子 they'd like to，
我认为就没有比较的意思了

as well as 我知道有既...又..可以理解为和的意思.比如. I had chicken as well as beef for dinner. 我晚饭吃了鸡肉和牛肉.

I not only play the guitar, I sing as well（＝I also sing ）.

2. as well 在口语中也可用于句中, 作“也好, 也行”或“倒不如”解, 用来缓和语气。如：

You may as well go.

二. as well as 用法

1. as well as常用来连接两个并列的成分, 作“也, 还”解。它强调的是前一项, 后一项只是顺便提及。因此连接并列主语时, 谓语动词与前一项一致；而用not only ...but also...连接时, 谓语动词与后一项一致。如：

Your wife as well as you is friendly to me.

不仅你而且你的妻子也对我很友好。

（＝Not only you but also your wife is friendly to me. ）

Electric energy can be changed into light energy as well as into sound energy.

电能既可以被转变成声能, 又可以被转变成光能。

2. as well as 用来表示同级比较, 指“一样好”。如：

You look as well as you did ten years ago.

你的身体看起来还和十年前一样好。

He plays the guitar as well as you.

他的吉他弹得和你一样好。
