SEVERE WEATHER WARNING
for Widespread Damaging Winds withLocally Destructive Gusts and Abnormally High
Tides
For people in parts of WA southwest of aline from Geraldton to Southern Cross
to Israelite Bay. This includes peoplein, near or between Geraldton,
Dalwallinu, Jurien Bay, Southern Cross,York, Perth, Mandurah, Bunbury,
Busselton, Margaret River, Bridgetown,Albany, Katanning, Narrogin and
Esperance.

WEATHER SITUATION
MONDAY:
Area affected: south of a line fromJurien Bay to Corrigin to Israelite Bay.
A strong cold front will pass over thesouth of the state causing DAMAGING WIND
GUSTS to 100 kilometres per hour whichcould result in DAMAGE TO HOMES AND
PROPERTY. In LOCALISED areas squalls mayalso cause DANGEROUS WINDS in excess of
125 kilometres per hour that could causeSIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO HOMES OR PROPERTY
. HIGHER THAN NORMAL TIDES may result inflooding of low-lying coastal areas.
DANGEROUS SURF CONDITIONS are likelywhich could cause significant beach
erosion. Winds will ease throughout thisarea by Monday evening.
This is typical weather for this time ofyear but winds may cause property
damage and make road conditions hazardous.The winds gusts associated with the
strong cold front on Monday will not beas severe as the deep low pressure
system experienced during Sunday, or thestorm expected on Tuesday evening.
TUESDAYEVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING:
Areaaffected: Southwest of a line from Geraldton to Southern Cross to Israelite
Bay.
Anintense storm is expected to hit the south of the state on Tuesday evening.
Thisstorm will be of similar strength to the system that affected the southwest
onSunday. This storm is expected to cause WIDESPREAD DANGEROUS WINDS in excess
of125 kilometres per hour that could cause SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE OR DESTRUCTION TO
HOMESOR PROPERTY.
HIGHER THAN NORMAL TIDES may result inflooding of low-lying coastal areas.
People near Geographe Bay arespecifically warned of the potential for a
DANGEROUS STORM TIDE. Tides are likelyto rise significantly above the normal
high tide mark. DANGEROUS SURFCONDITIONS are likely which could cause
significant beach erosion.
WHAT TO DO
For personal safety FESA State EmergencyService [SES] advises you to secure
loose objects, move vehicles under coverand stay inside away from windows. If
caught outside you should find shelteraway from trees, powerlines, storm water
drains and streams. If you own a boatensure it is securely moored. Take extra
care on the roads as flooding ispossible. If you are driving through heavy rain
slow down and turn your lights on or ifvisibility becomes low pull over and
