With Go Viatag, there's no stopping you enjoying fast, efficient, non-stop travel on all interstate toll roads with simply deducted from your E-toll account.
To support our transition to free-flow tolling we have introduced a new brand Go Via to showcase our expanded range of payment options.
This means that an E toll tag will now be known as a Go Viatag.
From 1 July we will also be transitioning to a new website govia.com.au and phone number 13000 GO Via (13000 46 842). But don't worry, if you do mistakenly use our old contact details, we will automatically redirect you.
Please also note that new terms and conditions will apply from July. You can view these at govia.com.au or call us for a copy.
Through your online account you can:
- view your account statements and transactions
- update your contact and vehicle details
- update bank and credit/debit card details
- change your top-up amount and method
- pa invoices
If you don't already have online access, contact us today on 1 3000 GO VIA (13000 46 842) to set it up.
Follow these easy steps to attach your new Go Viatag correctly to the inside of your vehicle's windscreen
1. Open your tag pack
If you have received your tag in the mail, then you will see that it was sent to you in a foil bag. Only remove the tag from the bag when you are ready to begin using it, otherwise your new go viatag account may be debited when you travel through a toll point.
2 Position the tag on the windscreen
Your tag will be attached to the clip already. Without removing the adhesive tape on the holder, place the tag against the windscreen to check if it will fit in the correct position.
3. Clean the windscreen
Using the wipe supplied, clean the windscreen surface where the tag will be mounted. Ensure the windscreen is cool as heat can prevent adhesion.
4. Attach the tag to the windscreen
Remove the adhesive tape from the tag holder and attach to the correct position on the windscreen. Press the tag firmly against the windscreen for 30 seconds to ensure it sticks.
- Why does my tag beep?
It's important to understand the meaning of the beeps emitted from your tag. These beeps indicate the status of your go via account, enabling you to manage your account balance effectively.
1 beep = the toll has been successfully charged to your account.
1 beep + 2 beeps = your balance is low and it is time to top-up your account if you nominated a manual top-up. If you have selected the automatic top-up option then your account will be topped up overnight.
4 beeps = your account is in debit and needs to be topped-up.
0 beeps = you need to contact your service as your tag may be faulty or installed incorrectly.
If your account goes into debit, you may receive an unpaid toll notice requestiong payment of the toll and a $7.00 administration fee may also be charged.
When using other toll roads please refer to that toll road operator's guidelines with regard to unpaid tolls.
What happens if I travel through a toll point without my tag?
If the vehicle's registration plate number is registered on your go viatag account, then you will pay the toll plus a $0.40 video matching fee per toll point.
If the vehicle's registration plate number is not listed on your account then you will need to contact your service within three days of travel or you will receive an unpaid toll notice for the trip, which will incur additional fees.
How do I care for my tag?
Your tag can be wiped down with a damp cloth as needed. NEver place your tag in water or use cleaning agents on it. Do not write, paint or attach anything to your tag as this could stop it from working and you may incur additional fees.
What do I do if my tag is lost or stole?
If your go viatag is lost or stolen, contact your service as soon as possible by phoning our Contact Centre or visiting one of our Customer Service Centres.
We will deactivate your tag and you will be issued with a new one. A $40.00 fee will appley to lost, stolen or damaged tags.
