As you are aware, DIAC has proposed changes to the General SkilledMigration criteria operating from 1 September 2007. Immgiration SA ismindful that many of your clients may be anxious to lodge their visaapplications with DIAC before that date. To assist you to do so,Immigration SA is making special arrangements for this period. A noticeis being posted on our website to this effect.
Pleasenote that from 27 July 2007 all sponsorship and nomination applicationsfor STNI (subclass 137) and Skilled Independent Regional (subclass 495)will cease. This is an attempt to process the applications received bythat time within the current processing standard of 4 weeks, in orderto allow sufficient time for the successful applicant to lodge theirvisa application before the 31 August 2007 at DIAC.
Ifyou wish a decision made on an STNI or SIR application so that you canlodge the visa application before 31 August 2007, Immigration SA mustreceive the on-line application as well as all supporting documentationat the Immigration SA office by Friday 27 July 2007.
Any applications (hard copy or electronic) received after that datewill not be processed in time for visa lodgement before 1 September 2007
However, given your support for SA, if you have a genuinely urgent casethat was beyond your control, please highlight this urgency on theDocument Cover Sheet and in an email to Immigration SA and we will doour best to process the application and make a decision as soon aspossible
Therefore to ensure that your application is processed in time for visalodgement at DIAC, our advice to you is to submit the applicationelectronically well before the 27 July and make sure that thesupporting documentation is received by Immigration SA before 27 July2007.
