This was a new company I set up with two other stockholders. This company is not big but had advanced technology. It developed high level anti-counterfeit products named banknote sorter that was always used in the bank.
Period: Aug 2007 – July 2008 Position/Title: General Engineer
Achievements:
I designed the system infrastructure for the banknote sorter, as well as the
system included software (firmware) framework and hardware. The software included: the FPGA control system, DSP mathematic system and the display system. The hardware included: analogue circuitry for the sensors (MR, UV, IR, Colour sensor, CIS, etc.) and the digital circuitry system (FPGA, DSP, ARM, ADC, DAC, USB, Power etc.)
Communication & remote control framework for the banknote sorter. The framework provides a programmable control interface for the banknote sorter, and communication framework from each part of the system, such as FPGA communication with DSP through double ports RAM and FPGA communication with ARM display system through SPI or UART port.
Leading the mechanical team and giving the main points to the Mechanical Engineers.
Using all types of sensors to designed analogue circuits for the banknote counter, such as: MR, MD, IR, UV, colour sensor, etc.
Mathematic in recognizing numbers and letters by using CIS (Contact Image Sensor). Including: Related circuit design, ADC sampling and data processing as well as number or letter recognition received from the CIS image.
Responsibilities:
Development of system infrastructures. Including: inter-component communication mechanism etc.
Technology consultant for the team members.
Worked out the main plans for the R&D Department.
Reviewed the plans of each team and reports.
Maintenance of software architecture. Including: source code structure, building targets, unit test framework and automatic documentation tools, risk-analysis, etc.
Project process and management. Including: Documentation correspond to the company process, role of project leader, etc.
Inter-company technical cooperation. Including: technical discussion, support and cooperation with other companies; technology validation tests, etc.

Achievements:
Embedded Hardware for a restaurant system terminal named dinysus. Dinysus is the main part of a restaurant system included talkers, chargers, displays, mobile terminal and the main system. The CPU was PXA270, and there were a lot of modules in the main system, such as WIFI (BGW200EG), Ethernet (LAN9118), Bluetooth (BGB203), PMU (tps65020), AC97 (WM9713), etc.
PDA hardware design.
A digital stereo audio amplifier for the dinysus in the restaurant’s kitchen. Digital amplifier output 2*12W, and the audio amplifier chip was MAX9741 produced by MAXIM.
Responsibilities:
Development of Embedded Hardware and analogue circuits
Development of digital stereo audio amplifier.
EMC compliance designed and tested.

This company was one of the biggest companies that produced banknote counters in China. Banknote counter was its main product, and it produced about 300,000 banknote counters per year. About 1/5 banknote counters were exported to EUROPEAN, MID EAST and RUSSIA, etc.
Period: May 2003 - Mar 2007
Position/Title: Senior Firmware Engineer, Hardware Engineer, Electronic Engineer
Achievements:
Designed more than 10 types of banknote counters for EURO, RMB, US Dollar, Hong Kong Dollar, Russian Rouble, Yen, Pound Sterling (GBP), New Taiwan Dollar, etc.
Used innovative method in processing IR (Infrared Ray) signal and UV(Ultraviolet Radiation) signal.
Designed high quality analogue circuits for the sensors, such as magnetic sensor, colour sensor, IR receiver and generator sensor, etc.
Successful in use of digital mathematics (software) to process the signals instead of the hardware.
Skilled in the use of all types of sensors to design analogue circuits for the banknote counter, such as: MR, MD, IR, UV, colour sensor, etc.

XXXX Medical Apparatus Co., Ltd. is at the vanguard of diagnosis instrument in obstetric and neurological field in China. The company provides complete systems for foetal monitoring, neuro-electricity physiological diagnosing and evaluating of encephalic blood vessels.
Period: Oct 2000 - May 2003

Achievements:
Designed several types of foetal monitors and foetal dopplers - machines used for baby diagnosis’ in pregnant woman through ultrasound sensors. My job included firmware, schematic circuits and PCB Layout.
Developed circuits in generating and detecting ultrasound.
Designed FECG (Fetal Electrocardiogram) machine. It is a machine likes ECG but used on foetus. Because FECG detects the bioelectric, and the bioelectric is weaker than the human’s, it’s very hard to design FECG. The voltage of the bioelectric generated by the foetus is about 10 micro volt. To design FECG needs high level of skills in analogue circuit.
